Why Public Speaking Is a MUST for All Executives

Public Speaking as a Leadership Tool

Not long ago, people would have laughed at this statement, but today it’s a reality: Every week, we receive inquiries from executives who want to take their communication skills to the next level using proven public speaking techniques.

Public Speaking Techniques

A 2,500-year-old technique that is still used today by all great speakers in business, entertainment, and politics. Richard Branson and Steve Jobs have made impressive use of these techniques in their businesses. Barack Obama and Martin Luther King have used them very successfully in politics.

Prof. Dr. Anabel von Ternés, Princess of Prussia, who has already completed several training sessions with us, also uses these techniques to win people over to environmental issues that are important to her.

Our clients—executives, public figures, and keynote speakers—combine public speaking with the latest findings in neuroscience to make a lasting impact on people. This is called Neurocommunication.

Neurocommunication: the language of the brain

The amount of information reaching all of us has increased exponentially in recent years. However, our brain’s thinking center can process only 5–7 pieces of information at a time, even though it is confronted with thousands.

The brain therefore filters information very heavily, and only a small portion reaches our consciousness. Findings from neuroscience show how we can convey information through these filters into people’s consciousness—clearly, in a structured way, and tailored to the target audience.

We no longer simply inform. We inspire.

Charisma as a Trait

Professional speakers enrich public speaking and neurocommunication with something we call charisma . According to popular belief, you either have charisma or you don’t—and that belief is wrong.

Charisma isn’t something you’re born with. It’s a trait you can develop.

The definition of charisma: a high level of positive energy that you share with other people. Those who do this have a certain presence and come across as charismatic. Exactly how this works and which four sources of energy we need to activate to achieve it will be the subject of another article.
